There are many reasons I am supporting Anna Thomasson for mayor. She has the high-level corporate leadership experience we need, but most importantly, the town will be her first priority.
Since Mark has a full-time job as president of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce, a volunteer role in Paradise Valley is not likely to be his first priority. During my 40-year financial career, I have also held several volunteer leadership positions for various non-profits. 100% of that time, my work for compensation came first. It had to. It was my livelihood and drove my professional reputation.
I gave what I could to those great causes, but they certainly weren’t my first priority, for obvious reasons. While being mayor of Paradise Valley is not a full-time job, it requires a lot of time and focus. I cannot fathom holding a full-time professional role while also trying to be mayor for the town.
Watching Mark and Anna serve on council, I have seen the difference. Anna attends many more town events, digs deeper into the issues and works harder campaigning by gathering her own signatures and walking door to door. She has shown us the leadership and focus we need in our mayor.
Please join me in voting for Anna Thomasson for mayor.
