Christ Church of the Ascension will hold the first Concerts at Christ Church event 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30 in the main church, featuring Music Director Tigran Buniatyan.
“This concert will incorporate keyboard music from the 15th–18th centuries, played on the most prominent instruments of the late Renaissance and Baroque periods: harpsichord, clavichord and organ,” Buniatyan said in a press release. “We can imagine the music of this period being played in various settings as we experience the diversity of sound and dynamics captured in music written especially for these instruments. While some pieces benefit from the power of the organ or the flexibility and clarity of the harpsichord, the lyricism and subtlety of other pieces is best emphasized by the clavichord.”
All are welcome to attend these free concerts. Donations will benefit the church’s choir program and may be made at the door or online at ccaaz.org/donate. Select music donation from the drop-down menu.
Christ Church of the Ascension is located at 4015 E. Lincoln Drive in Paradise Valley. Please call 602-840-8210 or email info@ccaaz.org for more information.
