Cochill: A response to Kurland’s view on Scottsdale’s asylum seekers

Posted

I am responding to Mr. Eric Kurland’s “Point Of View” regarding his position on the asylum seekers in Scottsdale.

He asked for people to speak up and I am doing just that. Do not let his point of view fool you. This was a hateful, demonizing, political hit piece right out of Saul Alynski’s “Rules for Radicals.”

Does Mr. Kurland have a right to express his feelings about the situation of housing illegal immigrants in a hotel in a residential area of Scottsdale, yes he does. However, that was not what his point of view was all about. Though I have very strong beliefs about this issue I will address Mr. Kurland’s diatribe.

Let me quote Mr. Kurland “One day it is the Fraudit, next day it is people decrying masks, then it is saying our littles are going to get a case of the sads if we teach the autrocities of our past in public schools.” He then goes on to claim that these horrible people are up in arms because “some folks” walk across the desert to try to escape unimaginable terror to claim “legal” asylum.

“Legal Asylum” means that you obey the laws of the U.S.A. to enter.
The people that were peacefully protesting the arrangement to house illegals in a hotel that was built for tourism, is a Constitutional right that we are all afforded in this country…at least for now. How, I would like to know, does Mr. Kurland equate that with Fraudit, decrying of masks, teaching the “autrocities” of our past.

He does it by demonizing the protesters and unmasking himself as a far left extremist and socialist.

How dare he accuse these protesters of the things that he has… does he know each of them personally? Does he have all the scientific facts about the masks… what about the election… does he have all the facts because he is all knowing!

What about the atrocities he claims this country is guilty of… has he walked in Arlington cemetery and viewed the graves of our brave soldiers that have given their lives to keep this country free and help it to keep evolving into a better and better land? Beneath those grave markers lie men and women of all colors who went to fight for their country.

Yet he took this opportunity to accuse those who believe in the laws — federal, state, and city — that were created to protect their neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and families to accuse them of being Ma and Pa racists. If the government wants to consider amnesty it needs to house those that come here illegally in government facilities that can process them — period. Our neighborhoods are not the place for that.

Now I again quote Mr. Kurkand “waving their flags and bemoaning illegal immigration” as if waving a flag is something that racists do and that according to his views illegal immigration is just fine with him…the more the better.

When he talks about so many guns does he mean the citizens that lawfully own them or the illegal ones on the streets or brought into this country? Let us not forget “Fast and Furious!”

I have news for you, Mr. Kurland, the golden rule applies to you as well, and your hatred for this country and the people that do not share your views is obvious. I did not know you before your point of view, but I certainly know you now.
