Charles Laurence Horton

Charles, 91, passed away July 14 in Sun City West, Arizona. He was born May 15, 1930 in Oak Park, Illinois, to Laurence and Alice (Erving) Horton.
Charles was a graduate of Northwestern University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and Navy ROTC.
In 1952, he married Barbara Deady before reporting as a Lt. J.G., to the Jacksonville Naval Air Station. They have four children Deborah (Gary) Hovatter, Beth (Paul) Michael, Walter deceased (Mickey) (deceased} and Patrick (Patricia) Horton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
As an auditor he worked for Arthur Anderson, Caesar’s World, and several other casinos in Las Vegas, NV, and Atlantic City, NJ. After retiring to Sun City West in 1989, Charles served as president of the Computer Club and librarian for Our Lady of Lourdes library. An avid golfer, he scored three holes-in-one on the Pebblebrook Golf Course.
His funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 19002 128th Ave., August 7 at 10:00 am. Interment will be held after the service at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, AZ.
