Black Board of Directors Project to recognize 2 members at MLK event

Black Board of Directors Project --- a 37-year-old advanced leadership organization that empowers its members as ‘Leaders in Building the Greatest-Today’ --- will honor two members with the City of Phoenix Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Living the Dream Award.

Felicia Davis and Virginia Fargo are the selected City of Phoenix Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Living the Dream Award recipients to be recognized at its MLK Breakfast, 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, 340 North 3rd St.

The event honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and recognizes those who embody his ideas through their personal commitment to human relations and social justice, according to a press release.

Ms. Davis is an author, coach, personal branding strategist and advisor to women leaders.  She is a trainer and former human resources executive and founder of the Black Women’s Collective, a training and development organization.

Born in East St. Louis, Illinois, the Laveen resident, attended the University of Southern Illinois and earned a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Phoenix, the release noted.

Ms. Fargo, a branch manager with Stearns Lending, earned a bachelor’s in biochemistry with minors in political science and African American Studies from Arizona State University.

Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she resides in Tempe, the release added.
