Bengert: Lewis, Sharkey and Pittinsky are wrong for SUSD.

Posted

In her recent article Dr. Lewis touts her 40-plus years of experience and how she made student academic success the number one priority. She welcomed creative and innovative approaches to improving academic outcomes.

Well, it didn't work.

During her tenure as a superintendent over 85% of her students were not proficient in ELA or math. Dr. Lewis has little to no connection or history with Scottsdale Unified School District.

Her two running mates, Mr. Sharkey and Mr. Pittinsky, aren’t any better. They all want to protect the failed administration of Menzel and his dismal academic record, declining enrollment and harmful and damaging social emotional learning. They want to protect Menzel as he works to disrupt and dismantle SUSD.

Lewis, Sharkey and Pittinsky are wrong for SUSD.

SUSD needs new leadership. We need leadership who will focus on academics, parental rights, fiscal responsibility and school safety.

We need to elect Gretchen Jacobs, Jeanne Beasley and Drew Hassler to build a strong SUSD.
