Arizona Masterworks Chorale presents Christmas sing-a-long

Arizona Masterworks Chorale presents Amahl and the Night Visitors Christmas sing-a-long and more Christmas tunes, 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14 at Ascension Lutheran Church.

The Arizona Masterworks Chorale is a chorus of skilled musicians sharing the joy of choral artistry and enriching the cultural quality of life in Arizona through choral music performances ranging from Classical to Contemporary, according to a press release.

The chorale’s director, Dr. Karen Parthun, whose extensive background as a choral conductor and educator, has served on the faculty and conducted choirs at Arizona State University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis, the release said.

The music director at Paradise Valley’s Ascension Lutheran Church, has even served as artistic director of the Arizona Arts Chorale, the Scottsdale Symphony Chorus, and the Roswell (NM) Civic Chorale.

In addition, she has conducted orchestral concerts and has extensive experience in church music.

Tickets: $15 general admission at: arizonamasterworks.com; or at the door for $20. Student prices are $10 and children under 12 are free.

Ascension Lutheran Church is at 7100 North Mockingbird Lane in Paradise Valley.
