Heard Museum will host annual Indian Fair & Market in March

The Heard Museum Guild will present the 67th annual Indian Fair & Market next month.

More than 600 Indigenous artists selected through a competitive jury process will display and sell their artwork on Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2, at the Heard Museum, 2301 N. Central Ave., in Phoenix.

This gathering of creativity blends traditional heritage with modern innovation while boasting a variety of experiences, including a Youth Art Show and Sale, a Family Fun Zone, and food from local vendors.

The weekend starts at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 with the Best of Show Awards preview. Over 650 works of Indigenous art take center stage to be judged by experts, but only one wins the prestigious Best of Show Award at this cultural interchange.

A Youth Art Show and Sale features young artists from across the country in grades seven through 12 who will have their work professionally judged. More than $10,000 in prize money will be awarded to up-and-coming creatives, including Best of Show and Best of Division awards.

Food will range from fry bread to kettle corn, plus locally inspired dishes at the Heard’s Courtyard Café.

The 67th Annual Indian Fair & Market brings more than 100 American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes and Canadian First Nations blending traditional heritage with modern innovation.
