Douglas, age 93, of Sun City West, AZ, passed away February 5, 2021.
Randy was born in February, 1928 in Oakland, California. He loved his country and served in the US Army. He attended University of CA-Berkley and earned a bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations. He was married to his beautiful wife, Mary, for more than 30 years. Randy had a successful career in the steel industry, working for US Steel and retiring from USS Posco. He and Mary loved to travel and lived a life that was full of adventures. Randy also volunteered behind the scenes for many organizations in Sun City West, including the TORCH Committee. He was proud of his community and was known for helping to make Sun City West a welcoming place to live.
Randy will be missed by many, but especially his wife, Mary, daughters, Kathy (Paul) Tilton, Laurie Piepho and Michele (David) Kimbrell. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Julie (Josh) Templin and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Honey Smith.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. Prayers are appreciated.
