Audubon Society chapter hosting family bird walks at Riparian Preserve

Desert Rivers Audubon Society leads free Family Bird Walks every third Saturday of the month at the Dragonfly Ramada of the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch from 8 a.m.-noon, October through March.

Those who attend can expect: 

  • A short walk;
  • A family friendly introduction to the birds of the Preserve from an expert birder; 
  • Liberty Wildlife attends most Saturdays with an exhibition of live raptors.

Attendees need only bring yourself and walking shoes. Binoculars will be provided for the duration of the walk.

More than 300 species of bird have been sighted in the 110-acre space at 2757 E. Guadalupe Road, Gilbert, since its development in 1999.
