Wheelchairs, other medical supplies available through Apache Junction Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus from St. Mary Magdalene in Gilbert applied for a grant from Joni & Friends and obtained adult-sized wheelchairs, canes, crutches and walkers.
“They wish to share their good fortune with us and our community in providing some of the refurbished medical equipment in like-new condition to people in need,” according to a release from Worthy Grand Knight Matthew Campbell of Knights of Columbus No. 7243 at St. George Roman Catholic Church in Apache Junction.
“If you are in need, know someone or an organization, a home or shelter, or a disabled person in the Apache Junction area who may benefit from this medical equipment ... free of charge, please contact Matthew Campbell. Please do this as soon as possible as supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis,” the release states.

Potential recipients should be aware that they or any third party, by accepting the equipment, agree not to offer it for sale and that all goods received are accepted in “as-is” condition with no warranties or guarantees, the release states.
“Also, based on the commitment to Joni & Friends— the organization that donated the equipment — we agreed to try to place the wheelchairs to any individual within our community, using height and weight information. We would also appreciate an email from those recipients providing answers to the following questions: First name of the individual who received the equipment, their need or disability status, where the equipment is being used and how the equipment improved the person’s mobility.
