Volunteers help Salvation Army, Ford sort masks for Feb. 23 Ford Mask Donation Day
Posted
Dozens of volunteers, including members of the Arizona Army National Guard, helped The Salvation Army and Ford Motor Co. sort face masks into bundles of 20 on Saturday, in preparation for Ford Mask Donation Day on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
The Salvation Army is teaming with Ford Motor Co. and local Ford dealers to provide more than 1.3 million free medical-grade face masks to communities across Arizona, according to a release.
Distribution begins with Ford Mask Donation Day 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, or while supplies last, with a limit of 20 masks per person. Nearly 160,000 masks are to be available during contactless, drive-through events at the following Salvation Army locations in the Valley:
The Salvation Army Metro Phoenix, Southwest Divisional Headquarters, 2707 E. Van Buren St., Phoenix
The Salvation Army Mesa Corps Community Center, 241 E. 6th St., Mesa
The Salvation Army North West Corps Community Center, 17420 N. Avenue of the Arts Blvd., Surprise
Distributions will also take place on Feb. 23 at select Valley Ford dealers as well as Salvation Army units and Ford dealers in Tucson, Sierra Vista and Green Valley. See where at fordfund.org/maskdonation.
Hundreds of thousands of additional masks will be available at Salvation Army units and Family Thrift Stores across the state beginning Feb. 23.
Ford Mask Donation Day is part of Ford’s #FinishStrong initiative — a public call to action encouraging Americans to pull together, protect each other and help save lives in the months ahead until COVID-19 vaccines become more widely available.
