USA Pickleball is bringing a competitive tournament to Mesa this April.
The Golden Ticket tournament will take place at Mesa’s Arizona Athletic Grounds April 9-13. The tournament provides a path for amateur players to participate in the USA Pickleball National Championships this fall, according to a press release.
“As featured tournaments where bracket winners earn priority registration access to Nationals, Golden Tickets offer participants an unrivaled player experience, an exclusive gift at USA Pickleball-operated Golden Ticket tournaments and the opportunity to compete at some of the best pickleball venues across the country,” the press release stated.
For the Mesa tournament, USA Pickleball Serves, the charitable arm of USA pickleball, will be partnering with Ticket to Dream Foundation to organize a packing station at the venue. On each day, USAP members will build a pickleball pack for foster youth. Each pack will include a paddle, pickleballs, water bottle, cooling towel and a note sharing why they love pickleball or a tip or trick. According to the press release, the packs will be donated to foster care agencies across the country.
The tournament takes place at 6321 S. Ellsworth Road. Entry fees are $165 per player in addition to various event fees. Registration closes on March 28. For information, visit https://usapickleball.org/goldenticket/mesa/.
