Joining the Mesa Arts Center team is Sonia Payan, the new full-time arts education specialist.

She brings a wealth of experience in arts education, having previously served as an instructor at Metro Arts, according to a release.

“During grad school, I discovered my passion for teaching as a graduate instructor for undergraduate courses. Supporting and guiding students on their artistic journeys was a rewarding experience, and I realized the tangible impact teaching in the arts can have,” Payan said in the release.

“Since then, I’ve been involved in teaching various age groups, continuing to share my passion for art. Working with children and teens allows me to help them discover and express their unique styles, serve as a positive role model, and provide a safe space for personal and artistic growth,” she said.

Mesa Arts Center is at 1 E. Main St. Go to https://www.mesaartscenter.com/
