Celebrate National Get Outdoors Day in Tonto National Forest at Salt River Tubing’s Salt River Pirates event 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12.
Free pirate bandannas will be given to everyone while supplies last and Salt River Tubing will be awarding free tubing passes for the best pirate tuber costumes, according to a release.
The 14th Annual Salt River Pirates experience is a fan-favorite and the cost of tube rental is $19 plus tax per person or tube, which includes inner tube rental, shuttle bus service and free parking at Salt River Tubing. Extra splash and sizzle includes pirate coin grabs, water cannon battles and free giveaways.
Salt River Tubing is in northeast Mesa, seven minutes from the Loop 202 East exit 23A, on North Power Road/Bush Highway in Tonto National Forest.
“Ahoy ye mateys. Salt River Pirates will set sail on their tubes on the Salt River, brandishing pirate hats, waving pirate flags and humming ‘Yo Ho Ho’ and a bottle of water. Buccaneers can kick up their heels with the pirate line dancers and grab a photo opportunity with our phenomenal pirate cast and ride our pirate warships (shuttle buses) to and from the Salt River. Join us for a unique river adventure in the great outdoors of Tonto National Forest. Arrrr!” Henri Breault, Salt River Tubing’s president and CEO, said in the release.
Salt River Tubing encourages floaters to help ensure a responsible safe-distancing atmosphere at the Salt River Tubing terminal building and on its shuttle buses during transport to the Salt River. Salt River Tubing’s safety protocols require a face mask during the tube rental/tube return transactions, shuttle bus transport to/from the Salt River and shuttle bus loading zones on the river, with no exceptions. Bring your own face mask.
