Would you like to try an Olympic sport that will improve your fitness as an athlete, teammate and leader? Rowers are needed for the 2022-23 Tempe junior crew at Tempe Town Lake.
Rowers in eighth through 12th grades are needed and novice rowers are welcome. The team’s three coaches have Olympic, collegiate and high school experience, according to a release.
“It is a small team with 25 kids and we are hoping to expand,” the release states. “We have athletes traveling to row in the famous Head of the Charles River regatta next month.”
Practices are after school, with travel regattas, camps and personal strength training planned with preparation to row D1-D3 schools in college.
