Plan for Loop 202 restrictions this week in Chandler area

Drivers should plan for closures or lane restrictions the night of Wednesday, Sept. 16, through the weekend along Loop 202 Santan Freeway between Interstate 10 and Loop 101 in the Chandler area, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Crews will continue work that includes removing worn asphalt and using specialized diamond grinding machines to smooth the freeway’s concrete pavement, according to release.
Consider using alternate routes while the following closures and restrictions are in place, according to the release:
Eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway narrowed to one lane (left lane open) overnight between McClintock Drive and Loop 101 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday nights, Sept. 16-17. Eastbound Loop 202 on- and off-ramps between Kyrene Road and Loop 101, including exit ramps to Price Road and northbound Loop 101, will be closed. Alternate routes include eastbound Chandler Boulevard.
Westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway closed between Loop 101 Price Freeway and I-10 from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21. Southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound Loop 202 closed. Westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Price Road closed. Alternate routes include northbound Loop 101 to westbound US 60 Superstition Freeway to reach I-10. Local traffic also can use westbound Chandler Boulevard or Ray Road.
Eastbound Loop 202 Price Freeway narrowed to one lane (right lane open) between I-10 and Loop 101 (Price Freeway) from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21. Eastbound I-10 HOV lane ramp to eastbound Loop 202 closed. Allow extra travel time, use caution in work zone and consider alternate routes, including eastbound Chandler Boulevard.
