Ooley: Women’s reproductive rights rally Oct. 1 in Apache Junction

Posted

The Apache Junction Democrats partnering with the Pinal County Democratic Party will hold a rally for women’s reproductive rights 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Flatiron Park, 100 N. Apache Trail in Apache Junction.

When the Supreme Court decided to overturn Roe vs Wade thus taking away a woman’s federal constitutional right to abortion, it created a national health care crisis for women. This decision not only angered women but has left them very concerned about the future of reproductive health care.

Women deserve the right to control their own bodies and to be in charge of their own health care decisions.

“The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a woman’s life, to her well-being and dignity. It is a decision she must make for herself. When the government controls that decision for her, she is being treated as less than a full adult human, responsible for her own choices.” — Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Join us at Flatiron Park in Apache Junction on Saturday, Oct. 1, for some “good trouble” as we raise our voices and chant “abortion is our right – we won’t give up this fight.”
