Mesa Mayor John Giles and Councilwoman Jen Duff will host the second of two virtual summits on homelessness at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, on Mayor Giles’ Facebook page @MayorGiles.

Mesa Police Detective Aaron Raine, Mesa’s homeless coordinator; and Deputy City Manager Natalie Lewis will discuss Mesa’s strategic plan to address homelessness, according to a release.

Pastor Jerome Parker of the Arizona Healthy Giving Council will share the most effective ways to support those experiencing homelessness, the release states.

The first one was held Dec. 10 and was hosted by Mayor Giles and Vice Mayor Mark Freeman. The virtual summit was to share some of the ways the city of Mesa is addressing homelessness with innovative programs like Community Court and Off the Streets. Guest speakers included Detective Raine and Judge John Tatz. Go to facebook.com/MayorGiles/videos/1088444804924468.
