Mesa invites everyone to attend the lighting of the first candle on Mesa’s Menorah to celebrate the start of Hanukkah on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, begins in downtown Mesa with the lighting of the first candle of a 12-foot Menorah at 6 p.m. outside The Post, 26 N. Macdonald in downtown Mesa.
Mayor John Giles and Rabbi Laib Blotner with Chabad-Lubavitch of Mesa will participate in the ceremony celebrating the start of Hanukkah.
The Menorah will have an additional candle lit each night during Hanukkah, which lasts until sundown on Jan. 2.
Following the ceremony, there will be activities and music inside The Post until 8 p.m.
