Liquor license sought for ‘Bowyer Battle’ charity event at The Post in Mesa

A liquor license is being sought for a one-day Bowyer Battle event in October in Mesa.
The Mesa City Council at a meeting at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at 57 E. First St. is slated to make a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control for the event to be held 5-11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at The Post, 26 N. Macdonald.
“Entire event is to take place indoors. Couple of Bartenders — Liquid Caterers is contracted for the evening and the event is (age) 21-plus only. ID’s will be checked during check-in process,” the application states.
At least 15 staff members will provide roaming security and liquor control within the indoor event area,
The special event name is “Cheers for the Cause,” Kylie R. Bower of Gilbert stated in the special-event license application.
The Bowyer Battle nonprofit has a mission to raise funds and awareness to not only further research but also to help families in a state of hardship. All proceeds are donated between the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation & Phoenix Children’s Hospital — the CF clinic family fund, it states at https://thebowyerbattle.org.
