Kids' summer activities at Pinal County Historical Museum

Posted

For June and July, the Pinal County Historical Museum goes to summer hours but will still have plenty of activities for kids and parents to enjoy.

The museum and gift shop will be open from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays or by appointment. The museum will be closed in August and will resume regular hours in September.

For the summer, the museum will have a scavenger hunt, a local geology activity, a desert animals activity, a reading nook and more, according to a press release.

With the scavenger hunt, families can learn more about Florence’s history. Explore Arizona’s natural history with local geology and desert animals activity, as well as the new Mountain Lion & Natural History exhibit.

PCHM will rotate the kids’ activities throughout the summer. There is no admission charge for children ages 18 and under. Admission is $7 per adult.

Founded in 1958, PCHM, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is the oldest historical organization in Pinal County. The museum shares Florence’s and Pinal County’s history through exhibits and educational programming.

The museum houses a large archive from which exhibits and programs are created. There are also opportunities for academic and community-based research.
