Family Mud Run planned in October in Apache Junction

The Apache Junction Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a live and in-person 9th Fit Families Mud Run in October at the rodeo grounds, 1590 E. Lost Dutchman Blvd.

“Our mud run is unique from other themed races as it’s created for all family members to experience the obstacle craze together. From our youngest participant of 18 months to our oldest of 85 years, this is truly an event your family won’t want to miss,” according to a release. “The obstacles created for the Fit Families Mud Run are age-appropriate in their distances, challenges and safety; the obstacles were designed for maximum mud and minimum danger.”

This year’s event will be on Saturday, Oct. 22, with the first of three waves starting at 9:30 a.m. The event sponsor is Legacy Traditional Schools.

Participants should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their wave time to give time to get checked in, take some pre-mud family photos and store items at a staffed bag check area.

Day of registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on-site at the rodeo grounds.

Fee is $10 per person if registered by Sept. 30. Adult prices will increase to $20 on Oct. 1 and $25 on race day. Youth prices will remain $10.
