Eaton of Mesa on 2022 USA Skateboarding national team

USA Skateboarding recently announced that 16 members — including Jagger Eaton of Mesa — would join the 2022 skateboarding national team to kick off the new season.

Skaters named to the national team were based on performance in international level events during the year before their selection for Men’s Park and Street and Women’s Park and Street, according to a release.

“Hailing from Mesa, Eaton is on an upward momentum and in the prime of his career at still such a young age. Jagger has limitless talent and versatility which allows him to compete in both park and street disciplines allowing him become one of the most progressive and technical skateboarders in the sport,” the release states.

Eaton became the first U.S. skateboarder to medal at an Olympic Games where he earned bronze in the street competition in Tokyo.

“The progression of skateboarding is crazy,” Eaton said in the release. “We’re constantly working, and I can tell you everyone on this team is absolutely wanting to dominate what we do. I’m really excited to get to Paris.”
