Dobson Ranch Library expansion, other items before Mesa Design Review Board Tuesday

A proposed addition to the Dobson Ranch Library — and five other projects — are to be reviewed Feb. 9 by the Mesa Design Review Board.

The 1,761-square-feet addition planned on the southwest corner of the library at 2425 S. Dobson Road is to be a new space for a ThinkSpot business incubator, maker space, studio and storage, according to city records.

Members of the board will conduct the 4:30 p.m. Tuesday meeting via a telephonic conferencing platform, and the live meeting will be accessible telephonically.

In other business, the Mesa Design Review Board is to review the following:

A multi-tenant commercial building on 1.6 acres on the south side of the 6800 to 6900 blocks of East University Drive.

A new office building and parking garage within an existing office development on 30.9 acres on the south side of the 1200 to 1400 blocks of West Bass Pro Drive and the west side of the 1100 block of North Alma School Road.

An automobile/vehicle service and repair facility on 0.8 acres on the south side of the 10700 block of East Guadalupe Road.

A data center on 3 acres on the east side of the 3200 block of South Ellsworth Road and the north side of the 9200 block of East Prairie Avenue

New industrial buildings within an existing industrial development on 229 acres on the south side of the 11100 to 11600 blocks of East Pecos Road, north side of the 11100 to 11600 blocks of East Germann Road and the west side of the 6800 to 7600 blocks of the South Meridian Road alignment.

The board is to continue to its March 9 meeting discussion on a restaurant with a drive-thru on 1 acre on the east side of the 1100 block of North Dobson Road.

The all-volunteer board is unique in that its composition is set by the zoning ordinance to include two architects; two from other design professions such as landscape architecture, engineering, urban planning, interior design or other design-related background; one contractor or developer; and two citizens, according to the city’s website.
