Diwali celebrated Nov. 11 in Mesa

Diwali, a festival of light over darkness and good over evil, will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Eastmark community in Mesa.
“The vibrant Indian community residing at Eastmark . . . is coming together to host a spectacular Diwali celebration,” a release stated.
“The Festival of Lights, one of India's most significant and joyous festivals, is expected to draw around 300 attendees who will join in prayer for world peace and prosperity.”
The event, which also will feature food stalls, clothing counters and more, will take place 5-9 p.m. at Element Green Park, South Element, Mesa, according to organizers.
