Chili cook-off with $100 gift basket prize hosted in January by Broadway Mesa Village

Broadway Mesa Village invites the local community to participate in a chili cook-off, a culinary event celebrating the art of crafting the perfect bowl of chili.

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in Broadway Mesa Village’s dining room at 7231 E. Broadway Road in Mesa.

Aspiring chefs and chili enthusiasts of all skill levels are encouraged to put their recipes to the test. Participants are asked to prepare their chili creations in a crock pot and arrive by 10 a.m. to ensure ample time for setup. Residents of Pegasus Landing will serve as the judging panel, tasting each entry and voting for their favorite, according to a release.

To complement the competition, an array of toppings and sides will be provided for all attendees. The winner of the event will receive a $100 gift basket filled with a variety of items.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to come together and share in a tradition that brings people around the table,” Brooke Rogers, executive director of Broadway Mesa Village, said in the release. “We are excited to taste the creative recipes our participants will bring and see the spirit of friendly competition.”

The event is free to enter, and participants are encouraged to register at the front desk of Broadway Mesa Village.
