Charity shred event Saturday to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

Posted

ProShred Arizona is holding a charity document shredding event 8-11 a.m. Nov. 14 to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Arizona.

Valley residents can dispose up to four bankers boxes of unwanted documents with a donation of $5 per box or a donation of clothing, according to a release.

Donations will be accepted at three drive-through locations in the Valley — the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Central Arizona office, 4745 N. Seventh St.; and Savers Thrift store locations in Mesa at 2110 S. Power Road and Phoenix at 10720 W. Indian School Road.

All proceeds will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona.

ProShred Arizona’s Business Development Manager Joe Caradonna said he hoped this charity event could help out kids and families struggling through a difficult 2020.

“This year has been a difficult one for so many families personally and financially,” Mr. Caradonna said in the release. “We wanted the community to come together and make sure kids have everything they need for the winter and the holidays.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona makes meaningful, professionally supported matches between adult volunteers and children that develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Mr. Caradonna said Big Brothers Big Sister’s reputation and their mission to help young people was a great reason to partner with them for this charity drive.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters is a great organization that has done a lot of good for the community,” Mr. Caradonna said. “They are committed to helping the next generation grow so we wanted to support them in any way we could.”
