The P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center is offering guided walking tours of historic Litchfield Park, providing information on the city’s development and its connection to Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
The hour long tour covers 15 sites in the downtown area, with a 1.25-mile loop led by a docent.
The debut tour is scheduled for Friday, March 21, at 10 a.m., starting at the gazebo at the southeast corner of Wigwam Boulevard and Old Litchfield Road. Participants will receive a printed guidebook that includes a map, photographs, and background on each site.
The tour will highlight the area’s history as a company town, its role in Arizona tourism, and early city planning efforts.
Available tour dates include, Friday, March 21, March 28, and April 4 with more dates to be announced.
Participants are encouraged to bring water, a hat, and sunscreen. Additional information and registration details are available through the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center.
