The Wag and Tag pet festival is set to return to Goodyear Civic Square 9 a.m. - noon on Saturday March 1, offering a variety of activities for pets and their owners. The event features entertainment, shopping, and pet-friendly treats.
“We want people to come out and have a good time,” said event organizer Dalton Attig. “When there's more people out, it's like something is in the air, something exciting.”
The festival will include a costume contest, a personalized craft station, an obstacle course and a pet-themed vendor market.
Pets can enjoy treats like puppuccinos, while attendees can participate in raffles and giveaways throughout the day.

A craft station for personalized keepsakes
In previous years, the event has included pet adoptions, on-site vaccinations, agility courses, food trucks and live music.
This year, the non-profit Pound PuppyZ will be on-site with several dogs available for adoption. Pound PuppyZ is a foster-based dog rescue that provides medical care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services before placing dogs in adoptive homes.
The organization also offers volunteer opportunities, including fostering, dog transportation, and assistance with home checks and vaccinations.
Pound PuppyZ will be bringing ten dogs to the event that are available for adoption:
Puppies: Oscar, Jetty, Biscotti, Blossom whose adoption fee will be set at $350.
Older Dogs: Rhea, Smoochie, Brandi, Sienna, Trooper, Cashmere whose adoption fee will be set at $300.
The event will also include a photo booth, face painting, cornhole games, and a raffle basket giveaway.
