Phoenix Raceway will host Power Play, an event recognizing the contributions of women in NASCAR and the sports industry, in honor of Women's History Month at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, .
The event will feature a panel discussion with female motorsports leaders and an opportunity for attendees to take a pace car ride around the track.
Latasha Causey, track president at Phoenix Raceway, will headline the panel alongside Kristin Miller, director of partnership marketing at NASCAR; Chantel Carlson, senior director of business operations at Phoenix Raceway; and Gale Powers, senior director of event operations at Phoenix Raceway.
“NASCAR is a sport that brings people together, and as a result, Phoenix Raceway plays a key role in showcasing our great community to visitors across the country every year,” Causey said. “I cannot wait to help build upon the great work that’s already been done in making this facility one of the true gems in sports and entertainment.”
The event, organized in partnership with Women in Sports and Events Arizona will provide networking opportunities and insight into the careers of women working in NASCAR.
Before the panel discussion, attendees will have a chance to take a pace car ride around the track beginning at 5 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
The event will also support UMOM New Day Centers, a nonprofit organization assisting families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Guests are encouraged to bring hygiene product donations. Those who contribute will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a NASCAR Racing Experience.
