Wildlife World moves into phase two reopening after COVID-19 closure

Visitors to Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park will find more of their favorite spots open since the facility’s move to phase two of its reopening plan.

The facility reopened to rave reviews Wednesday, Sept. 3. As of Saturday, Sept. 19, visitors can peruse the Aquarium Gift Shop, hop aboard the Flying Scooter Ride and Exotic Animal Carousel, pan for gold, gems and fossils in the new Mining Experience and enjoy a meal at the Congo Cooker Café.

Wildlife Encounter Shows also have returned.

“The feedback from the community has been really positive! Everyone is grateful that we are able to provide a safe environment with plenty of fresh air and space to social distance and bring a little normalcy back to families that have been cooped up all summer,” said Kristy Morcom, director of media relations.

COVID-19 safety measures remain in place during phase two, including masks required for staff and visitors, informative signage throughout the zoo encouraging safety/social distancing, socially distanced ride seating, complete ride sanitation after every rider and dozens of sanitizing stations installed throughout the park.

The Sky Ride, African Tram, Safari Train, all indoor exhibits, the petting zoo, giraffe feeding station and stingray touch tank also are open.

The 100-acre facility at 16501 W. Northern Ave. in Litchfield Park is home to more than 6,000 animals.
