Litchfield Park Branch Library to host free ‘Drama Drive-in’ performances

Register early for ‘Book of Dragons’ on April 10

The Litchfield Park Branch Library, 101 W. Wigwam Blvd., will host two free live outdoor Childsplay Theatre performances of “The Book of Dragons: Drama Drive-in” on Saturday, April 10.

Seating is limited to 10 vehicles per performance, and advance registration is required for those wishing to attend performances at 2 and 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Litchfield Elementary School, 272 E. Sagebrush St., across from the library.

Performances are weather-permitting, according to a release.

The one-person play, recommended for ages 5 and older, will feature a complete set, props and costumes and bring to life three tales of brave children who save the world from dragons.

Patrons will be able to tune in via their vehicles’ FM radios as short stories from Edith Nesbit’s “The Book of Beasts,” “Uncle James or The Purple Stranger” and “The Deliverers of Their Country” are reimagined for the audience.

Childsplay Theatre is a Tempe-based professional theater company founded in 1977 whose chosen audience is children. recommends the play for ages 5 and up.
