Kazuko Conklin

Posted

Kazuko was a compassionate and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She passed away peacefully the morning of February 20, 2023 at the age of 85.
She was born and raised in Post World War II Japan and her family was able to endure some of the most trying times her country had ever seen. In the years to come, she met and married her husband, Frederick N. Conklin while he served in the U. S. Marine Corps.
Her transition to the United States was a difficult journey that saw her not only become proficient in a new language, but also pass licensing tests in the nursing industry that she graced for her entire career. Starting as a Nurse’s Aide in Union City, Pennsylvania during the 70’s, she finished as a highly sought after Home Caregiver in Sun City, Arizona. Many lives were eased with the help of her professional skills and knowledge.
She was always the perfect host. Everyone knew where to get the best Japanese food and enjoy a card game. When her sons were younger, her house was the one that all the other kids came to hang out. To this day, they all carry a special memory from those times.
In addition to her cooking skills, she loved knitting, crocheting, playing cards and was an incredible ping pong player.
She is survived by her sons, Raymond and Glenn, daughter in law, Linda, grandchildren, Brandon, Tanya, Payton, and Benjamin and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick and two grandchildren, Jeremy and Astin.
A service will be held at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 3:00 P.M.
Kazuko Conklin was a 37 year survivor of breast cancer. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the “Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation” in her name.
