Joseph passed away peacefully in his home May 3, 2021 at the age of 88. Sonny was born June 24, 1932 in Phoenix to Joe Shaughnessy Sr. and Kathryn Davis. Sonny grew up near 15th Ave. and Grand Ave. with his siblings Leona Huebsch and Carole O’Shaughnessy. Sonny served in the Air Force before a 26 year career with Salt River Project. He served the Great State of Arizona as a member of the State House of Representatives from 1967-1970 and as an Arizona State Senator from 1971-72.
