The Elizabeth Dole Foundation Hidden Heroes program and Operation Gratitude are teaming up with Skyway Church in Goodyear to serve a drive-thru breakfast on Veterans Day to those who served in the U.S. military.
Veterans from any era can visit the church 14900 W. Van Buren St., from 7 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11 to receive breakfast to go, a care package from Operation Gratitude and other gifts from community and military organizations.
They also can connect with resources for veterans in the Valley if needed.
“We will also be appreciating spouses and caregivers to these veterans which are so often left out,” said breakfast organizer Bree Shields, the Arizona representative for Hidden Heroes.

The Elizabeth Dole Foundation’s Hidden Heroes program raises awareness of military caregivers and the issues they confront daily. It also seeks to inspire communities to support caregivers and provides resources and support.
Hidden Heroes cities include Avondale, Buckeye, Goodyear and Litchfield Park in the Southwest Valley.

Operation Gratitude sends more than 300,000 individually addressed Care Packages to service members deployed overseas, to their children left behind, and to first responders, new recruits, veterans, wounded heroes and their caregivers.
On Veterans Day, more than 25,000 care packages will be distributed.
Each package contains snacks, hygiene products, entertainment and handmade items, as well as personal letters of support.
