Head Start enrollment now open for West Valley families

Catholic Charities Westside Head Start has begun enrolling students in the 2022-2023 school year, which includes enrollment for Head Start, Early Head Start, pregnant mothers and home-based programs.

Catholic Charities Westside Head Start provides early childhood education for children ages zero to five, those with special needs, foster children and homeless families.

Full-day, duration classrooms (8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), full-day, non-duration classrooms (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and half-day (8-11:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m.) classes are available in Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye, El Mirage, Glendale, Tonopah, Peoria and Tolleson.

Programs emphasize pre-reading, language, math, cognitive skills and health, and social and emotional competence to prepare disadvantaged children for school and to maximize their potential for a bright future.

Expectant mothers and families with members who have attended the program can call 623-486-9868.

For more information, residents of Goodyear, Avondale, Buckeye and Tonopah can call 602-287-6199. Residents of South Avondale/Cashion, Tolleson, Peoria , Surprise and El Mirage can call 623-932-3517.
