Posted

Monthly classes for individuals with disabilities to learn and practice independent living skills are scheduled from 10 am. to noon on the third Tuesday of each month.

The free classes are scheduled online via Zoom.

The class schedule through the end of the year is as follows:

  • October: Disability Employment Awareness Month, Oct. 18

Presented by Ability360’s Lisa Purdy and the Independent Living team, the class will provide information about disability employment issues and will celebrate the contributions made by individuals with disabilities.

  • November: Nutrition for the Holidays, Nov. 15

The holidays bring joy, family and friends together, most often around food. To avoid unhealthy eating habits, the class will provide nutrition tips about making healthy eating choices to promote overall health and well-being. Presented by Chef Steve Norton.

  • December: Holiday Party, Dec. 15 (10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

Enjoy holiday games, escape rooms and a good cup of cheer in a celebration of the hard work invested in learning independent skills this year. Presented by the Ability360 Independent Living Team of Tesslyn Wagner, Ashley Diarte, Alexander Castillo and Leanne Murrillo.
