Avondale begins roadway repairs

The city of Avondale announced today that contractor crews working for the city of Avondale will begin sealing cracks on over 30 miles of roadway throughout the city.
The work is expected to take approximately four weeks.
Application of the crack seal material prevents water from seeping into soils supporting the road surface, and that helps underlying soils better support street layers.
Crews will be working exclusively on residential roads per the attached map, and work hours are limited to 7:00 am-5:30 pm on weekdays. Arrangements will be made to provide adequate traffic control so that normal traffic flows will not typically be interrupted.
All personal vehicles will need to be relocated for a short time while the crews are working. Crews clean and prepare cracks in roadways, apply rubberized hot pour crack sealant to the cracks and clean up areas after the operation as needed.
