FARMERS’ MARKETS
New Peoria Night Market closes after two weeks
Posted
Independent Newsmedia
After just two weeks in operation, the new Peoria Night Market at Park West shopping center has closed, but those who want to see their favorite Southwest Valley vendors can still find them at weekend markets in Glendale and Surprise.
“We are bummed to say it, but our Wednesday night markets at Park West didn’t work out and we had to cancel all further Wednesday nights for the season,” market organizers posted on the Momma’s Organic Market Facebook page.
“Our farmer couldn’t stay without the community support and without our farmer ... we don’t have a farmers’ market.”
Based on online responses, market organizers said, they thought a Wednesday night market, which opened Oct. 7 at the location, would be a hit.
The Get Local Arizona Events markets at Arrowhead Town Center in Glendale and Surprise Farmers’ Markets will continue as usual.
Both markets feature vendors from the Southwest Valley that include John’s Amish Country of Goodyear, Hope’s Artisan Bread of Litchfield Park, Heart 2 Home - Elderberry of Avondale, and Saucy Luke’s Craft BBQ and Sun Tan Honey Farm of Buckeye, among others.
The Arrowhead market, 7700 W. Arrowhead Towne Center, runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, with more than 100 vendor booths set up near the AMC Theaters.
The Surprise market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays at Asante Preparatory Academy, 23251 N. 166th Drive in Surprise.
