Litchfield school district wins all divisions at math challenge

The Litchfield Elementary School District won first place in all three grade-level divisions at the 2025 Westside Impact Math Challenge.

The annual academic event brought together student teams from more than 10 West Valley school districts to compete in problem-solving and math-based challenges.

Teams from Litchfield Elementary, Palm Valley Elementary and Western Sky Middle School placed first in the third and fourth, fifth and sixth, and seventh and eighth grade divisions, respectively. Each team was led by district educators serving as coaches.

“This is an incredible accomplishment for our students, coaches and school communities,” said Dr. Carter Davidson, LESD79 superintendent. “This clean sweep shows the power of high expectations, rigorous instruction and passionate educators who believe in every student’s potential.”

The Westside Impact Math Challenge is held annually to promote collaboration, critical thinking and academic growth among elementary and middle school students.
