Litchfield residents invited to annual State of the City Address

Posted

Litchfield Park residents are invited to attend the annual State of the City Address this Saturday, April 2 beginning at 9 a.m.

Mayor Thomas Schoaf, city council members and city staff will take the opportunity to highlight the city's accomplishments, challenges and goals.

City leadership is also expected to deliver information related to the Litchfield Square special election in which voters will decide whether the city may sell off parcels of land located in Litchfield Square. Election day is Tuesday, May 17.

The annual address is customarily held in February, but it was changed to April due to high COVID case numbers early in the year.

“COVID numbers were still very high when we were planning for SOTC in February, and we wanted to do the meeting in person,” City Manager Matthew Williams said in an email to The Independent.

The mayor and council will address the city from Souers Hall at The Church of Litchfield Park located at 300 N. Old Litchfield Road. The address will start at 9 a.m. and will end around 11 a.m.

For questions, contact City Clerk Terri Roth at troth@litchfield-park.org or at 623-935-5033.
