Litchfield Park invitational golf tournament seeks volunteers

Posted

The West Valley Mavericks Foundation will host the 2024 Patriot All-America Invitational golf tournament at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona, from Dec. 28-31.

The event will feature top amateur golfers, including Ping All-American collegiate players, competing for the title of Patriot All-America Champion. A unique aspect of the tournament is that each golfer carries a golf bag embroidered with the name of a fallen military or first responder hero. After the event, the bags are presented to the players' colleges and auctioned off to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled service members.

The tournament will begin on Dec. 28 with an opening ceremony and an amateur-amateur tournament. General admission is free for all rounds of the event. A Patriot Unplugged concert featuring Nashville recording artist Aaron Nichols and fiddle player Melissa Barrison, will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 30

VIP experiences will be available, including access to the Salute to Service Tent, sponsored by Buckeye Equestrian Center and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The tent will offer complimentary food, an open bar, and premium viewing areas for those with VIP tickets. Active-duty military personnel and veterans can access the VIP tent at no charge.

The Veteran’s Village, sponsored by USAA, will provide resources for veterans and their families in areas such as mental health, education, and employment. Proceeds from ticket sales, beverages, and event merchandise will support the West Valley Mavericks Foundation and local charities.

Volunteers are needed to assist with various tasks during the event, including driving shuttles, managing on-course scoring, announcing at key holes, and supporting event setup and cleanup. Those interested in volunteering can sign up for specific roles, such as helping players reach the 10th tee, assisting with pace of play, and handling event logistics.

The Patriot All-America Invitational will be held at Wigwam Golf Club, 451 N. Old Litchfield Road, Litchfield Park.
