Litchfield Park hosts fun run

Posted

The Litchfield Park 10K, 5K, and one mile run or walk will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, in historic Litchfield Park, Arizona. The race features a flat, scenic course lined with palm trees, starting and finishing at the Litchfield Park Recreation Center.

The event includes three competitive races: the 10K, 5K, and one mile. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group.

The overall male and female winners in each distance will receive special recognition plaques. All participants in the non-competitive one mile fun run or walk will receive ribbons.

Participants will receive a race t-shirt and one raffle ticket for prize giveaways. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed their preferred shirt size, while walk-up registrants will receive t-shirts based on availability. Food and drinks will be available, and post-race awards ceremonies will follow the races.

Entry fees for the competitive races are $40 for the 10K, 5K, and 1 Mile. The non-competitive 1 Mile Fun Run costs $25. Race-day registration will be available with payment by cash or check at the Litchfield Park Recreation Center.

Early check-in will be available 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at the Litchfield Park Recreation Center, where participants can pick up their t-shirts, race bibs, and raffle tickets. Online registration is available.

Race day will begin with the 10K at 7:30 a.m., followed by the non-competitive one mile fun run or walk at 8 a.m., the 5K at 9 a.m., and the final one mile race at 9:45 a.m.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Friends of the Rec, a nonprofit organization supporting youth and family recreational programs in Litchfield Park and the West Valley. The group contributes to local youth sports, capital improvements, and community events.
