The P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center will host its next Discovery Days event with a focus on pioneer life, offering free, hands-on activities for children and families.

Discovery Days: Pioneer Life will take place Wednesday, April 9, at the Heritage Center, 13912 W. Camelback Road. The event is open to the public and designed with homeschoolers and students on half-day schedules in mind.

This month’s theme will explore the lives of pioneers and farm workers in the Southwest Valley. Attendees can learn how cotton was planted and picked, try washing laundry the old-fashioned way, and make adobe bricks.

Discovery Days is a monthly educational program that highlights local history through art, science and interactive experiences. Each session features new activities designed to engage visitors in the culture and history of the region.
