Renewal Methodist Church, a small congregation that has been meeting Sunday afternoons in Litchfield Park, is relocating to a new worship site in Peoria and shifting to a morning service beginning Sunday, June 29.
The church will begin holding services at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays at Sky View Elementary School, 8624 W. Sweetwater Ave.
Renewal Methodist Church held its first service on Dec. 13, 2024, while sharing space with a Nazarene church in Litchfield Park. The congregation is affiliated with the Global Methodist Church, a theologically conservative denomination that formed in 2022 and emphasizes scriptural authority and the historic teachings of John Wesley.
The church includes members from communities across the West Valley, including Peoria, Glendale, Surprise and Litchfield Park. Church leaders said the new location and service time are intended to make worship more accessible to current and prospective attendees.
The name “Renewal” is drawn from Romans 12:2: Church administrators stated that each Sunday service includes biblical readings, a scriptural sermon, music, communion and time for fellowship.
