On Friday, Feb. 14, the Litchfield Park Branch Library will offer Yoga on the Lawn, a one-hour yoga session for all levels.
The class will run from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the library’s lawn,
101 W. Wigwam Blvd., in Litchfield Park, weather permitting. If there is inclement weather, the session will move to the library's community room, with space limited to the first 20 participants.
Heike Newman, a certified yoga instructor, will lead the class. Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mats and water bottles.
Newman, who became a certified 200-hour yoga teacher in 2020, also holds a certification in Yoga and Mindfulness for children. She is registered with Yoga Alliance, insured, and CPR certified.
“My passion is to share Yoga with my community. Yoga is for everyone,” stated Newman. “My advice (is to) start now, create little moments of self-care, like a five minute breathing exercise, a 10-minute walk, a five minute stretching break... Then build from there.”
The event is free and open to adults ages 19 and older. Space is limited, so early arrival is encouraged.
