James Clinton Stanton

Posted

James of Sun City, Arizona, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at age 87 in Phoenix after a brief battle with COVID-19. He was born April 9, 1933, he was a Christian man and will be sorely missed by his two sons, David and Robert (their wives Bridgette and Susan) and five grandchildren: Michael, Ryan, Josh, Kent and Neil.
James and his wife Lorraine, who preceded him in death in 2005, were high-school sweethearts from Michigan.
The son of a Detroit police officer, he worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors, and she was a librarian. They raised their two sons in Livonia, later moving to Plymouth, and then lived for many years on Ten Mile Lake outside South Lyon, where they enjoyed summer visits from their children and grandchildren and lake outings on the pontoon boat. They spent winters as snowbirds traveling in their RV to warmer locales, including the Phoenix area, before permanently relocating to Arizona. James lovingly cared for Lorraine in her final years as she battled Alzheimer’s.
During his nearly two decades living at the Paradise RV Resort in Sun City, James made many friends whom he cherished, and he lived an active life until the end.
There are no memorial services planned but he will be remembered in our hearts forever. James and Lorraine will be interred at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi, Michigan.
