Goodyear veterans interested in sharing their stories with the Three Rivers Historical Society have until Tuesday, Sept. 15 to submit them for publication in the organization’s publication, The Quarterly.
“I have received some very good ones, but need more,” said author and historical society board member Sally Kiko, who is collecting the stories. “I have a mix of themes, one about a POW another about a Seabee that was tasked with building the best beer gardens in various locations so the troops could take break in the midst of war. Please tell me your story. I would like to fill the whole issue with stories of the vets we all know.”
Stories do not have to be long, nor do they have to have perfect spelling and grammar, Ms. Kiko said.
Word files may be emailed to Ms. Kiko at email@example.com. Typed or handwritten copies may be mailed to her at 11383 S. Oakwood Drive, Goodyear, AZ 85338.
