A 26-year-old man has been arrested in the crash Saturday that killed two and injured 11 in Goodyear, police said.

Pedro Quintana-Lujan was booked on two counts of manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault, 18 counts of endangerment and two counts of causing serious injury or death by a moving violation, Goodyear police said Sunday, Feb. 26.

Authorities also said Sunday that one of those injured remains in life-threatening condition.

One of the victims who died is a resident of Goodyear, and the other fatality was a person visiting the area from out of state, police said.

The crash happened about 8 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, near Cotton Lane and MC85.

Police said “a large group of adult bicyclists” were hit by a pickup truck. One woman died at the scene and a second rider died at a hospital, police said.

The injured cyclists were taken to three different area hospital with various injuries, according to police.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene.

“The Goodyear Police Department is deeply saddened by this tragedy and extends condolences to the loved ones of the victims as well as to the cycling community and the community as a whole,” authorities said in a release.
